Helpful Therapy Center, LLC- the leading provider of individual, group and family counseling, clinical supervision and community outreach.

ABOUT HELPFUL THERAPY CENTER

Helpful Therapy Center, LLC is a counseling system dedicated to the wellness of the individual, the foundation of the family, and the advancement of our community. I like to think of HTC as an à la carte " practice, allowing the client to find the therapeutic approach and blend of services that fulfills the journey that fits each individual spirit.

In addition to the services provided to clients, we provide outreach within the community and guidance for new counselors as they seek full licensure.

Another passion of mine is the guidance and support to new clinicians entering into the field. Thus, I take pride in HTC serving as a internship site to such schools as Boston University, Northwestern University, and Georgia State University; hosting graduate students and nurses as they acquire the experience and exposure to help gain confidence in their craft. Interns provide private pay services at a discounted rate.

Look around the website and if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact us. We hope to see you again! Check back later for new updates to the site. There's much more to come!

Cherrell D. Thomas, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) | National Certified Counselor (NCC)

Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS)

Employee Assistance Specialist - Clinical (EAS-C) |   Distance Certified Counselor (DCC)

Since entering the profession over 18 years ago, I have had the pleasure of gaining experience in various areas of the counseling field; from the foster care system, community mental health centers, emergency room evaluations, psychiatric hospitals, in-home services, autism advocacy, the non profit sector, managed care, and Employee Assistance Programs. Each setting preparing me for my own private practice in 2010. Whether working with adults or children, I am always reminded of the human nature of resiliency. I enjoy collaborating, encouraging, and providing support during the personal journeys of others. I have encountered diverse clients in a variety of settings; which has helped foster my belief in the good in all of us. Every time I meet a new client, I am more aware of how much more we are alike as human beings than we are different - we all want the basic pillars in life: happiness, as sense of belonging, and fulfillment (and I am lucky enough to say that my job provides me with all three!).

Brittni Marlor, MA, LAPC

Master's in Counseling, Northwestern University
Bachelor's in English Literature, Georgia State University
Associate Counselor
Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC)

Having started my journey as an intern at Helpful Therapy Center during my graduate program, I am excited to enter in my new role as associate counselor and exercise my passion for helping others.  My therapeutic approach addresses the history of my clients. Many of our patterns as adults can be traced back to our childhood experiences.  Understanding our origins can help us better identify our challenges, resolve our past hurts, and encourage healthy solutions.

Brittni is available for therapy sessions at a discounted rate.

**As an associate counselor working towards her credential as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Brittni's counseling services are supervised by Cherrell Thomas, LPC, Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS)
